Activity was again very limited after about an inch of rain. At the end of last week, there was limited planting and sidedressing. The late heat will finally help the corn and beans start their growth for the year. Early beans are only showing one to twi trifoliates. The early corn is around V3. Crops are delayed in their growth even with the early/timely planting. I would anticipate that during the weekend there will be a flurry of activity in the fields with folks finishing up planting, sidedressing and spraying. Overall, things are looking good in Champaign County. You do not have to go too far south to see where they had too much rain and will have to replant when it dries out again.
