Too much rain, not enough rain, too hot, too cold. If you don’t like the weather wait a few minutes and it changes. That’s good ole’ southern Illinois for ya. Last week, we saw some scattered rain across the area, but not everywhere. Some fields are starting to get very dry. The corn looks like pineapples in the middle of the day, and the beans have slowed their growth. Other fields look beautiful and seem to be racing ahead. Just depends on what part of the county you are in. Hopefully, with seven days of rain chances forecaste for this week, we will get lucky everywhere. Wheat harvest has been coming along nicely, and yields seem to be pretty good from what I’ve been hearing. Quality has also been better then average. It’s definitely a welcome crop to have considering the prices of everything else these days. Be safe this week and God bless.
