The bearing on the cleaning fan went out and was shooting sparks throughout the combine as we started our last field of soybeans. After an hour and a half of running water and removing panels, we had all the embers out. The only real damage was a wiring harness that had to be replaced and a day’s production lost. Three days later, we were hot and heavy into corn harvest and a hydraulic distribution block cracked and leaked all the hydraulic fluid out. Fortunately, we were back in business a day and a half later. In spite of it all, we were able to get a lot of harvesting done last week mostly by running late at night to catch up.
