A lot of rain was forecasted last week, but it all fizzled. That was a blessing for those replanting but on the contrary, it seems like the start of a dry weather pattern. Early planted corn is growing and has good green color, but later planted corn has not reached down to the nitrogen yet. Soybeans are growing nicely. There is a fair amount of replant going on, especially in corn. Sidedress of nitrogen is wrapping up as well as corn post-spraying. Most post-spraying of soybeans will pick up this week. I would rate both crop conditions only as “good” at the moment.
