David Brandt, a longtime no-till farmer from central Ohio, will speak at the Lake Springfield Watershed Resource Planning Committee meeting, 7 p.m. June 16 at the Sangamon County Farm Bureau, Springfield.

Brandt will share his 50 years of experience with no-till farming and the use of cover crops. A question-and-answer session will follow his presentation. "I'm trying to pass on what we've learned," he said in a news release. "I don't want everyone to reinvent the wheel. I want people to see and hear about our successes and failures."

The meeting is sponsored by the Sangamon County Soil and Water Conservation District and Springfield's City Water, Light and Power, Illinois EPA and the Natural Resources Conservation Service's Regional Conservation Partnership Program.

The meeting will also be available through Zoom. Contact Sangamon County's SWCD at 217-241-6635 ext. 3 or email michelle.seman@il.nacdnet.net and jake.vancil@il.nacdnet.net for Zoom meeting information.
