The Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) will host virtual public meetings Dec. 1-3 to develop a revised state water plan. Click here for details.

Three separate two-hour meetings will cover the same information and last about two hours. Participants may select the date and time that works best for them. Dates and start times are Dec. 1, 10 a.m.; Dec. 2, 2 p.m.; and Dec. 3, 5 p.m.

Advance registration is not required. Go to the website and click on the links to enter the meetings while they are happening. Introduction and wrap-up sessions will be open to all attendees simultaneously. Breakout rooms are provided to allow discussion of specific issues as specified. Breakout rooms will be held simultaneously but may be entered and exited at participants’ discretion.

Before the live meetings, IDNR suggests listening to a recorded summary, available on a link at the website for an overview of 13 critical issues.

Public comments and input may be submitted through Jan. 15 using the survey platform or by emailing comments or survey responses to dnr.owrplanning@illinois.gov.

Links to live recordings of the meetings will be posted to website. More outreach meetings, possibly virtual or in person, will occur in late spring and summer to review the next stage of the report development.
